Katharine Hepburn’s SECRET Beverly Hills Home EXPOSED!

Katharine Hepburn, one of Hollywood’s greatest actresses, is often associated with her distinct New England roots, yet she also had connections to Los Angeles, the heart of the film industry where she made her mark.

Katharine Hepburn’s residence in Beverly Hills was not just a house, but a symbol of her unique style and independence during Hollywood’s golden age. Known for her fierce individuality and distinctive voice both on and off the screen, Hepburn’s choice of home was reflective of her personality.

The house itself was located in the exclusive Beverly Hills, an area synonymous with luxury and celebrity.

Rare are the houses that encourage us to pack all our belongings, leave our cozy nestles and a substantial part of past life, and get ready for a shaky grand move. Katharine Hepburn’s adorable house is among them, and after watching this video, you’ll understand why. Her former L.A. hideaway in California boasts an exceptional exterior and no less stunning interior. Let’s see what treasures this Beverly Hills beauty hides beneath its thick greenery walls.

But first, a few words about its renowned owner, Katharine Hepburn, an American actress in film, stage, and television. Her successful career spanned 67 years through eight decades, during which the actress was honored with numerous industry’s top awards. She won four Academy Awards, the record number for a performer. Hepburn received 12 Oscar nominations for Best Actress, surpassed only by Meryl Streep, whose lovely Pasadena home we also reviewed.

When she moved to Hollywood in the early 1930s, Hepburn rented the property for five years. She was only 25 years old then and had just exchanged New York City’s Broadway stages for Los Angeles’ big screens in 1932.

Such an exquisite person required a corresponding house. The Beverly Hills abode, hiding behind walls of lush greenery from prying eyes, became the home that matched Hepburn’s unique personality. A spacious mansion was tucked away in Coldwater Canyon between Studio City and Beverly Hills.

Hepburn was not the only star to have lived in the five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bath property. Horror movie legend Boris Karloff owned the property in the 1930s and 1940s. The actor is famous for his monster roles in Frankenstein and The Walking Dead.

Surprisingly, Karloff had a great passion for gardening, so he expanded the surrounding landscape before moving out of the house in 1945. His lush gardens and outdoor courtyards still give the property a fascinating sense of privacy. Karloff planted laurel and eucalyptus hedges around the territory and a fruit orchard with oranges, grapefruits, lemons, limes, plums, peaches, apricots, and avocados. The iconic actor also established a rose garden on the land.
