Marilyn Monroe, born Norma Jeane Mortenson, was one of the most iconic and beloved actresses of the 1950s. With her breakout role in “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,” she quickly rose to fame as one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood. She reportedly lived in more than forty houses during her lifetime, and today we will uncover some of the most notable properties—luxury penthouses, Hollywood mansions, and Connecticut estate, where the actress spent her best moments.
Surprisingly, Marilyn Monroe only ever owned one property, which she purchased in her final year of life, having spent the majority of her life moving from house to house until her tragic death in 1962. The icon was not born with such a lavish estate, but she spent the last six months of her life in the expansive LA mansion before she passed away.

Marilyn grew up in the southwest Los Angeles neighborhood of Hawthorne with the Bolender family. She shared a little 120-square-meter house with Wayne, Ida, and her foster siblings. After that, she spent two years living in the Los Angeles Orphans Home Society before moving in with relatives and friends in a variety of Los Angeles residences.

The film siren’s first home was a Hacienda-style home in the exclusive Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, tucked away at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. Sadly, she passed away there in August 1962.
