The architect also remodeled this exquisite house. Colcord designed historical revival houses with American and British roots between 1920 and the 1980s. His homes in Brentwood, Westwood, and Bel-Air have a simple, rustic, and wholesome feel. Many A-listers have owned estates per Colcord’s design, among them a screenwriter, Jerry Wald, an actress, Connie Wald, and a singer, Dean Martin.
Colcord was known as “Hollywood’s society architect,” who preferred designing traditional homes, and Mr. Ford’s abode was no exception.
